Written Instructions[]

All facings are relative to the initial ready stance. 

  • In Charyeot – Attention stance, staff held vertically behind body in Right hand. Bow. 
  • Step into Joonbi Ready stance, Staff brought in front of you, held in both hands horizontally in front of you at lower chest height, then forcefully thrust down and out to waist height. 
  1. Step forward into Left Long stance, perform a Left Lower strike. 
  2. Step forward into Right Long stance, perform a Right Middle strike. 
  3. Step forward into Left Long stance, perform a Left Lower strike, followed by Left Middle Strike, followed by a Upper Front block. 
  4. Pull staff down to chest and perform a Right Front kick with Kihap!, stepping into Right Long stance and performing a Right Lower strike. 
  5. Spin 180deg counter-clockwise on the Right foot to face the back in Left Long stance, perform a Left Lower strike. 
  6. Step forward into Right Long stance, perform a Right Middle strike. 
  7. Step forward into Left Long stance, perform a Left Lower strike, followed by Left Middle strike, followed by a Upper Front block. 
  8. Pull staff down to chest and perform a Right Front kick with Kihap!, stepping into Right Long stance and performing a Right Lower strike. 
  9. Spin 270deg counter-clockwise on the Right foot to face the left in Left Long stance (*1), perform a Left Lower strike, followed by a Upper Front block. 
  10. Spin 180deg clockwise on Left foot to face the right in Right Long stance (*1), perform a Right Lower strike, followed by a Upper Front block. 
  11. Spin 90deg counter-clockwise on the Right foot to face the front in Left Long stance (*1), perform a Left Lower strike, followed by a Upper Front block. 
  12. Pull staff down to chest and perform a Right front kick with Kihap!, stepping back to the same position of Left Long stance, perform a Double Middle strike – Right then Left. 
  • Step Left leg back into Joonbi Ready stance, Staff brought in front of you, held in both hands horizontally in front of you at lower chest height, then forcefully thrust down and out to waist height. 
  • Bring Left foot to Right in Charyeot – Attention stance, Spin staff to vertical, behind body in Right hand. Bow. 

(*1) These Long Stances might be Back stance - not sure.
