Dr. CHOUE Chung-Won has been the president of the World Taekwondo Federation/WTF (Now World Taekwondo/WT) since 2004, succeeding Un Yong Kim. Choue started the Taekwondo Humanitarian Foundation project. In addition, he is the Honorary President of the Taekwondo Peace Corps as well as the Advisor to the Korea Olympic Committee.
Born on December 20th 1947, Dr. Choue graduated from Kyung Hee University in Economics in 1970. He then continued his education in International Politics with a Master degree at Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1974, and a Ph.D. at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven of Belgium in 1984.
