Adoption Edit

Hi. I’ve given you admin and bureaucrat rights on this wikia as you requested. You now have the tools you need to clean up, customize and maintain the wikia.

Check out your Admin Dashboard, which can by found by clicking "Admin" on the bottom toolbar -- it has links to all your new tools. Please let me know if you have any questions, and good luck with your new (old) wikia! -- Wendy (talk@fandom 01:15, May 30, 2014 (UTC)

Hey Jim, happy to help.  My experience over the past nearly 30 years has been in Kukkiwon Taekwondo, so I won't be able to help much with the ITF side, but happy to add what I can.  I'll give you a shout if I need anything specific. 13:38, January 7, 2015 (UTC)

I edited the descriptions on the Taekwondo page (but unfortunately did it without logging in - maybe anonymous edits should be disabled?).  I tried to keep it as neutral, but factual as I could.  I also wanted to change the table below, but it wouldn't let me.

Specifically - I would label WTF/Kukkiwon as Unified rather than Sport*, and dan grades do have black trim around the collar.

  • If you attend the Taekwondo Master Training Course in Korea you do one 2 hour session on sparring, the rest is on basics/poomsae/history/demonstrations/etc.  WTF is purely a sports association, but as you correctly said it was Kukkiwon-style then you should consider that the Kukkiwon isn't purely sports.  Indeed the Kukkiwon's new online Encyclopedia has very little on sparring -

Hey Jim, why is Yoon Byung-In written throughout the Changmookwan page as Byung In Yoon, but all other Korean names are put last name first.  If you visit it will show Soon Bae Kim, but at least redirect from Kim Soon Bae.  I don't know how to do redirects in Wikia, so I can't fix it to be Yoon Byung In (so people visiting are less confused about surnames).

I'm very happy to help!

Thank you for your warm welcoming! :)
