Moo Yong Lee
LEE, Moo-Yong was one of the founders of the United States Taekwondo Won and the United States Taekwondo Instructors Union.
Lee championed the inclusion of taekwondo as an Olympic sport and in the early 1980s played a formative role in the establishment of the United States Taekwondo Union — which was later to become USA Taekwondo, the National Governing Body (NGB) of Olympic Taekwondo in the U.S. Lee served as president of USA Taekwondo from 1985-1986 and was the president of the United States Taekwondo Instructors Union (USTIU), an organization he founded in 1991.
Lee passed away in December 2016 and was posthumously promoted to 10th dan by Kukkiwon.
